The Empire Strikes Back nostalgia continues as Duncan Jenkins looks back on the 1980 Puffs Tissues Star Wars promotion. From SW.com:
"While sad movies might be judged by how many tissues the audience requires to dry their eyes, that's probably not the reason Puffs facial tissues did a promotional tie-in for The Empire Strikes Back, despite the many sad events experienced by our heroes throughout that film. Perhaps there's some deep-seated metaphorical parallel between facial tissues and the universal mythic narrative woven throughout George Lucas' epic movies -- or maybe Proctor&Gamble just thought they could sell more boxes with Star Wars characters on them. Whatever the reason, American Puffs facial tissue boxes in 1980 were festooned with Star Wars images and became one of the more memorable promotions from The Empire Strikes Back era."
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
