Friend of TFN, Mike C., sent us the following link to an article posted at JiveMagazine.com that delves into "The Complex and Terrifying Reality of Star Wars Fandom." Do Star Wars fans hate Star Wars? Click here for an interesting perspective.
Thanks Mike!
UPDATE: A month and a half ago, we posted a link to a tounge in cheek piece (and I thought quite funny) that Andrey Summers wrote about us Star Wars fans and our love / hate relationship with the saga. Apparently our little link to the piece brought out some passionate responses for what was actually a 3 year old article. Some of you found it humourous. Some found it right on. Some were downright ticked off. Of hearing of the resurgent responses to his opinion, Andrey wrote a follow up which not only clarifies his position, but gives an interesting reason for the origin of his thoughts.
I found the original article hilarious (and the last line great) which is one of the reasons I posted the link to it. Not to mention, as much as I love Star Wars, I enjoy all perspectives, and the details of the original article suggested someone who knew their Star Wars.
"Star Wars fans hate it when previously-deceased characters are brought back to life, but we also hate Timothy Zahn for not bringing his characters back to life. Star Wars fans did not hate Grand Admiral Thrawn, but we do now, because he is always dead."
I mean come on. That one made me laugh out loud. I really do hate the fact that he's dead. Thrawn's the man! I hope, at the very least, you found the original article entertaining. It was just one person's perspective.
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
