As we've been reporting for quite some time, there's a new series of Star Wars "Decide Your Destiny" books coming out. These are chose-your-adventure books, designed for younger readers, and featuring characters from the Clone Wars cartoon.
The United Kingdom edition of two of these books, Way of the Jed and Tethan Battle Adventure, were published over there on Thursday: you can see them on Amazon UK here and here: cover price is £5.99, with a 30% Amazon UK discount, and similar offers possible from other retailers...
And now they have a website!
Now, this is where it gets complicated for a moment. A version of Way of the Jedi appeared in the U.S. last year (and was enthusiastically reviewed here by Adrick); there's also a second U.S. "Decide Your Destiny" book set for release later this month, called The Lost Legion. Normally, a foreign edition wouldn't be a major source of excitement; but the Way of the Jedi and Tethan Battle Adventure that have just been published in the UK seem to be something more than a straight reprint of the U.S. series.
We're not yet sure what all the differences are (and we don't even know if Lost Legion and Battle Adventure are actually the same book), but the big feature that separates the UK versions is an addtional level of online content, unlocked by codes when you solve puzzles in the books. StarWars.com assures us that there's also a North American edition due in future.
Now, friend of TF.N Eddie from Once Upon a Galaxy has contacted us to let us know that the new "Decide Your Destiny" website is online, as part of StarWars.com!
There's a rather fun and funky opening menu, which really put me in the Star Wars mood, and the text promises additional animated clips among the rewards later in the site. We don't have the access codes to give you a more in-depth review, but we'll let you know more about that when we hear it!
Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
