As we already reported, this past week brought forth news of Game Update 1.4 now being on the Public Test Server along with a new Developer Dispatch video previewing the upcoming operation, Terror from Beyond. The only other semi-major update at SWTOR.com for the week came in the form of a new post from the Star Wars: The Old Republic Community Team detailing new High Population Server Tech Testing. Here's an excerpt:
"In order to provide a better overall gameplay experience we?re getting ready to introduce new high population server tech that will allow us to significantly increase current server populations. Once we introduce new high population server tech, any characters remaining on an origin server will be moved to a high population destination server.
The first step in this process is opening up a new, temporary Public Test Server for testing. In order for us to successfully test this new tech, we need your help. To facilitate your participation we have copied all characters from our East Coast servers to this temporary Public Test Server. If you have any characters on an East Coast server, you can now log in to this special Public Test Server, find your copied characters, and begin testing this important feature today, September 13th."
AusGamers.com presents an interview with BioWare Austin General Manager Matt Bromberg in which the Bromberg discusses the hopes for major TOR updates every six weeks...
"AusGamers: In terms of the content going forward -- at the press conference you guys talked about [new] stuff coming out -- is there a kind of quantifiable volume that you can talk about, in terms of what you would like to see by the end of the year, and then maybe the first quarter of next year?
Matthew: Well we?re committed to: about every six weeks, doing a major update for the game -- which would be a new Warzone, a new Operation, a new Flashpoint, a new event -- and to doing that on a really frequent cadence, every six weeks. So we?re going to stick to that.
AusGamers: In terms of getting those players back, that may have walked away, as well as inviting new guys in, obviously you have the free-to-play thing going now, but what else are you guys doing, in terms of fostering...
Matthew: As well as the free-to-play launch -- which is coming in the fall -- we announced that subscribers who have lapsed are already qualified to get Cartel Coins, which will be the in-game currency in the game once free-to-play launches. So you get credit, not just for becoming a subscriber now, going forward, but also for all the time that you were a subscriber, you get more credits and more coin. So we?re hoping that that will encourage people to come back to the game and try it now."

Rebelscum Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Patch Posted By Philip on November 25, 2014: Thanks to everybody that ordered patches. I sent a check for $1,600.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on Monday. While it's not as much as I hoped for, it's still very much appreciated. They will remain for sale in the store for anybody that still wishes to purchase them. Details after the jump.
