Billy Dee Williams wants to set the record straight on a few things.
For one thing, only one Star Wars role was ever on the table for him. According to the Albert Local News, Williams stated that "he did not, contrary to long-standing rumours, audition for the role of Han Solo before landing the part of Lando." In fact, Williams says, he never "auditioned" for anything, per se.
"I was asked to play Lando and I said, ?Yeah, great, fantastic.? (Director) Irv Kershner came to my house, we sat and talked and got to know each other and that was that,? Williams said.
Additionally, Williams revealed that he took an unusual item from the set of Return of the Jedi.
?I have an Ewok head from the movie. I have it in a box, put away. I have to take it out of the box and put it behind some glass.?
Williams will be in Canada this week for Wizard World Toronto, and the city's Liss Gallery will be showcasing some of his art prints as well.
