This will be a day long remembered. Star Wars: The Complete Saga is out on Blu-ray today! Already a number of major websites have posted their reviews, and Lucasfilm is doing what it can to promote the release of the set. Check out our coverage of Blu-ray Release Day below.
Den of Geek says, "The original trilogy certainly gives the best transfers of catalogue titles a run for their money. The prequels fare less well, but still have breathtaking moments that more than justify the upgrade."
Jamie Benning of Star Wars Begins fame reviews the set for Wired's GeekDad blog.
Bill Hunt of The Digital Bits writes, "[T]he deleted scenes alone are almost reason enough to buy the set. On top of that, the simple fact of the matter is that these films - especially the original trilogy - have simply NEVER looked better at home than they do here.".
IGN's Cindy White says that "this may not be the best Blu-ray you've ever seen, but it is the best Star Wars could ever look and sound on Blu-ray. At least, until they get around to converting them all to 3D."
Publicity Stunts
Bring on the Jawas. As if New York City wasn't weird enough already, yesterday a numberof folksspotted three Jawas and a stormtrooper traipsing around the Big Apple to promote the release of the set.
A more elegant weapon... Star Wars fans in London got to witness the power of the Force on a grand scale (although size matters not) as the city's BT Tower was transformedinto a giant lightsaber with the help of Anthony Daniels.
Embrace The Humor On such a momentous day for the saga, there will naturally be jokes and spoofs aplenty. Here are some of the best and most viral.
