Lucasfilm Ltd. recently filed a lawsuit against the Chicago billboard advertising company Skywalker Outdoor, alleging that the company's use of the word "Skywalker" infringes on its patent. In the suit, Lucasfilm is seeking both damages and a prohibition on the use of the term "Skywalker" by the billboard company.

Lucasfilm maintains that, in a 2007 agreement, Skywalker Outdoor promised to stop using the term by the end of 2008. According to Lucasfilm however, executives at the company went back on their word by saying that the person who agreed to the 2007 solution was not authorized to do so.

The Chicago Tribune reached out to Skywalker Outdoor CEO Michael Richards, who apparently denied any knowledge of the 2007 resolution, but Richards has not yet responded.
