It's Valentine's Day, which means we're all supposed to give each other hugs and show our appreciation for one another. Right?
Not for Harrison Ford!
The actor who played Han Solo spoke to MusicRooms.net, and he told them some interesting things about George Lucas, money, and his career in between Original Trilogy films. Ford said that he was paid very little for his work on A New Hope. He said he had to take on other film roles -- some of which he "didn't like," according to the article -- just to make George pay him more.
In the article, Ford says:
"I did them with a singular purpose: that was to get my price well above what I was paid for the first Star Wars and oblige George to pay me and my fellow actors real money."
Ford did say that doing this created a much better filming environment for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, because Lucas eventually decided to raise the actors' pay for the sequels.
