Lucasfilm Addresses YouTube.com Actions With Fan Films

It was recently brought to my attention that since my recent wave of Youtube.com posts here at TheForce.net, several legit fan films had their films removed on Youtube. What's weird is this was supposedly by the request of Lucasfilm, and they are a huge supporter of fan films where as they go to the length of having an annual fan film competition in conjunction with Atomfilms.com.
I brought this recent wave of shut downs to the attention of a Lucasfilm employee who quickly looked into the incidents and determined there was a mistake at Youtube.com. Here is the official statement from Lucasfilm.
Lucasfilm has been informed that YouTube recently removed from its site several fan-made Star Wars spoofs and parodies. We would like the fan film community to know that this was not done at our request. Apparently the action was taken by YouTube as a result of a misunderstanding of a request to remove an item containing material taken from starwars.com without our permission. We have asked YouTube to restore any works that they inadvertently removed.
