A Word from Gary Mongar
Director of "JANGO"
My whole fascination with filmmaking began when I saw Star Wars: Episode I for the first time. I was completely blown away by the special effects and thought to myself how cool it would be to pull off visuals even remotely resembling those I saw on the big screen. I purchased my first PC that summer and began the rigorous task of teaching myself how to do computerized special effects. That's when it all started: ideas for films started flowing uncontrolably through my mind and I realized that the importance of a film isn't in the effects, but the story itself.
The story of JANGO originally came to mind after the release of Attack Of The Clones. I thought that Jango Fett was a great character and I found myself wondering just where he came from and how he got to be the way he was. I was already in the middle of another film project, but the JANGO idea was always stuck in the back of my mind. When I finally found the time to start work on JANGO, the story just seemed to flow from nowhere and I was able to write the entire script in just one day.
The film was a seven month labor of devotion as I worked on the entire film by myself, from the visual effects to playing all of the characters in the film save two that were played by my wife. I'm very proud of my efforts and I hope you all enjoy JANGO.
