A Word from Pat Kerby
Directors of "ESSENCE OF THE FORCE"
I had more fun on Essence of the Force than almost anything I've ever done. I knew from the start that I wanted to showcase the talents of an all-Las Vegas cast and crew on this project. To that end, I assembled the finest team of filmmakers that Las Vegas has to offer.
From the creative (art director/cinematographer Brad Thomas Hill, makeup effects artist Ron Wild, and fight choreographer/swordmaster Thomas Dupont), to the technical (steadycam operator Lynn Nicholson, gaffer Mike Roach, D.P. Jay Nemeth, and JR Lighting equipment and crew), to the post-production (effects by Joe Pelligrino and Barton Anderson, 3D animation and modeling by Chuck Bejarano and Greg Dees, post-production facilities and Jimmy Jib by Century Productions, and music by Frank Klepacki (www.frankklepacki.com)), the best of the best in Las Vegas film production gathered for three nights of shooting in the Las Vegas desert, and 5 months of post production work.
I'm very proud to have a completed project that reflects both my talents as a director, and the talents of the Las Vegas filmmaking community. Everyone worked for free, but I never tell people that I did a low budget film, because if I'd been paying full price for everything, I would have used the same crew.
