A Word from Gary Mongar
Director of "HALLOWEEN NIGHTMARE"
Halloween. My favorite holiday. What other time of the year can you dress up like a freak and scare the bejesus out of people without getting arrested?
Halloween of 2003: My children got into the holiday spirit and one day approached me with the idea of making a "scary" movie. What a fun idea. My response was: "Okay. How about... a Michael Myers movie?" They all replied: "Yeah!" Now I don't let my kids watch horror films freely. I screen the films they watch and only allow them to watch parts of horror films that don't contain a lot of gore. I knew that if I was going to make this type of film with them, I would have to keep the gore factor at a low.
Enter Halloween Nightmare. The project began on a brisk day after the holiday had passed. The children came up with ideas for the story and I quickly hashed out a screenplay for a film that I thought would be fun to make and enjoyable to watch. The entire film took only three weeks to complete, with my family working on the project daily. I had a wonderful time working on this film and I hope you all enjoy watching it.
