A Word from Hakan "Zap" Andersson
Director of "INTERMEZZO DUALIS: RELOADED"
The trigger for this project was the announcement of the lightsaber choreography contest. I got the idea to submit a lightsaber fight with myself. Yeah, it's been done before, but most tries I've seen had been either embarresingly bad, very very short, or both.
Armed with this thought, I created Intermezzo Dualis - Part 1 which won an honorable mention for the special effects in a local film
competition. But it was short and fairly pointless.
Enter the release of The Matrix Reloaded, which inspired more experiments into multi-clone battles.... and moving cameras, and prompted me to finalize the film into my own little "Reloaded" piece.
It's not an acting excercise. There are no sets (bar some digital extensions), no special costumes, and not much dialogue. There is, however, an effect or two (or three, even) and it should be enjoyed for what it is...
Needless to say, this was a fun yet exhausting experiment. I doubt I will ever do another film using myself in every aspect of its production.
For those curious about any of the details of the production, there is a "Behind the Scenes" document, but I urge you to watch the film beforehand or it'll spoil all the fun for ya.
Thank you for your time.
