With the evolution of services like YouTube.com we will no longer be hosting Fanfilms on our servers at TheForce.net. However, we are always looking for great new content to feature in our Fanfilms section. If you are the director of your own Star Wars related Fanfilm, and would like it featured, please contact us for more information. Meanwhile we're archiving our older content below for future reference.

F.A.Q.

Q: What is TFN FanFilms?

A:TFN FanFilms, formerly TFN Theater, is the complete source for Star Wars fan filmmaking. Aside from showcasing what we think is the best of the best in Star Wars fan filmdom, TFN FanFilms will expand film hosting to include film making tips on story development, screen writing, preproduction, principle photography, and post production. We will also include a cast and crew search for filmmakers looking for people in their area, the premiere SW fan filmmaking discussion forum, and fan film news.

Q: What is the difference between TFN Theater and TFN FanFilms?

A: The TFN Theater was the name for TheForce.Net's section on viewing Star Wars fan films exclusively hosted by TFN. Soon, TFN's staff saw the need for something bigger and better. They merged the Theater with Jeff Yankey's FanFilms.com, brought on a new developer - Eric Desormeaux, and formed TFN FanFilms. The section that hosts the films, however, is still refered to as the Theater.

Q: Will it cost me anything for you to host my film?

A: Absolutely not. Because of the generosity of LucasFilm Ltd. and George Lucas, we are allowed to create these fan films in this wonderful universe. However, no money can be made by any party involving them.

Q: How does TFN FanFilms decide which movies to host?

A: After a film project or finished film is submitted to TFN FanFilms, the staff reviews the film and the story to see if it has a place in the Theater. At that point, they decide whether or not to host it. Related information: See Guidelines For Submitting A Film.

Q: Will TFN FanFilms host fan-made audio dramas?

A: Not at this time. TFN FanFilms would prefer to remain a fan *film* site for the time being.

Q: What is this about exclusive download?

A: We will ask that we be your only source for the movie download. We both win in a partnership such as this. TFN FanFilms has become known as the definite source for the best in Star Wars Fan Filmdom. Your film will be available on a fast server with plenty of bandwidth. You are welcomed and even encouraged to have your own website about your film. This way, you can create a design of your liking and simply link to your TFN film page for downloads.

Q: Should I send pictures or movie clips to you over email?

A: Please do not send attachment to us over email until we ask you to. You might jam up our email boxes and not all of the theater staff have high speed connections. Send a URL where we can find the picture or video and we can download them ourselves. If you are seriously considering having your film hosted by TFN FanFilms, then you will need to fill out the "Add a Film" form with the necessary information in place for the TFN FanFilms staff to review your film or project.

Q: If my movie is not on TFN website, will you report news about it?

A: Most definitely. TFN FanFilms has expanded to include all news about the different Star Wars fan films, no matter where they are located. We encourage everyone to send in their fan films news when they have something new to show or launch. While TFN Theater requires a submission process, the TFN FanFilms News does not. However, we will not link to films that we consider inappropriate for younger viewers or non-Star Wars related.
