A Word from Christian Guldager
Director of "DOGFIGHT"
This small movie was made while I was learning how to use 3D Studio Max and Poser in my studies. When I discovered the many wonderful Star Wars
models at www.theforce.net/sci-fi3d I knew I wanted to make some cool animations.
Animating is what interests me most, so I had a great opportunity to jump straight to storytelling with these great models. The project grew and
grew and before I knew it I was drawing detailed storyboards. I knew I wanted to tell a simple story using the starfighter models, but I soon realised that I wanted to see the Pilot's faces too. Disembodied voices didn't create the atmosphere or exictement I wanted to achieve. So making
animated pilots with Poser made the production time twice as long.
I actually made half the movie's shots and deleted them all. I was still learning to use the software while I made them, and as I got better, the last half of the shots were much better than the first half, so I had to redo the first 50 shots. I could only work on it at night and in my spare time so the project took about five months, including editing. But I had alot of fun and I learned so much from it. I hope you'll like it.
