A Word from Rich Cando
Director of "THE BAD DUDES STRIKE BACK"
Well, a lot has happened since the release of the first Star Dudes adventure. Who could have predicted that a little space opera in the spirit of Dude Gordon and other Saturday matinee serials of my youth would resonate so much with its audience. Once again, I'd like to thank TFN who gambled on the film after several other studios had passed on it.
Needless to say, the hype surrounding the Star Dudes sequel overshadowed its production. First of all, the casting rumors involving Leonardo DiCaprio taking over the role of Yoda got completely out of hand. Even more frustrating were the spoilers that surfaced over the Internet revealing that a major character would be frozen in carbonite.
Truth be told, I am nothing but flattered about the fan reaction. The "Countdown to Star Dudes" website that emerged was clever, and the lineups taking place in front of computers months ahead of the cartoon's release was truly a sight to see. So as The Bad Dudes Strike Back makes its debut, I'd like to thank everyone for their support and hope you enjoy the cartoon.
By the way, another sequel is inevitably on the way, but I can't confirm nor deny the casting rumor of Leonardo DiCaprio as Jabba the Hutt.
