King of Paint Joins Forces with RYCA
Bristol street art gallery King of Paint is hosting an exclusive solo show in the lead up to Christmas showcasing one off and limited edition pieces from renowned artist RYCA. Doors to the gallery in Haymarket Walk open to the public on 12th December until the end of the month.
Bristol?s coolest gallery, King of Paint, undergoes a makeover for each exhibition and RYCA is pulling out the stops for the private viewing on the 8th December, filling the newly painted silver space with a host of Storm Troopers.
The exhibition theme is based around RYCA?s influences from the global movie world and features limited edition prints of his iconic Star Wars characters, including the famous ?Reservoir Troopers? in addition to one off originals.
RYCA, real name Ryan Callanan, originates from London and has become well known for his urban art as well as designing and manufacturing signs and more recently for his experimenting with CNC engineering to create a completely different aesthetic to his work.
Talking about the exhibition RYCA states; ?I'm obsessive about art, music, film, culture, history and toys. Think of this show as a visual representation of what?s going on in my head most of the time.?
Paul Villalba, King of Paint gallery owner comments; ?The man is constantly pushing mediums with his edgy pop culture visions. This is a show not to be missed. RYCA?s work ranges from ?80 to ?1000, making this a very affordable exhibition and perfect for those wishing to buy a unique and one off Christmas present.?
The gallery is normally open Monday ? Saturday, 10am ? 6pm, and those wishing to peruse at their own leisure can book private viewings by emailing info@KOPaint.com.
RYCA?s exhibition will be running until 31st December 2011. To view more details of the work on display and to view work from other artists please visit the newly launched website www.KOPgallery.com.
