THE LONG AWAITED STAR WARS: CLONE WARS VOLUME II SOARS INTO CANADA ON TELETOON'S
"MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU" SPECIAL PRESENTATION
The long awaited, highly requested Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume II (Chapters 21 - 25) premieres for TELETOON viewers on Wednesday, May 4, 10 pm on The Detour on TELETOON. This back-to-back "May the 4th be With You" special 90-minute presentation is a Canadian exclusive. Volume II picks up right where Volume I left off - with a team of Jedi trapped in a wrecked starship on Hypori, being hunted maliciously by General Grievous.
"We are proud to be the only Canadian broadcaster who is airing this must-see lead-in to Star Wars: Episode III," says Carole Bonneau, Vice President, Programming, TELETOON. "We have been receiving many requests and inquiries about its release and we are thrilled to be providing Canadian viewers with Volume II of this terrific micro-series."
The Star Wars Saga Continues...
In the final installment of Star Wars: Clone Wars, a group of Jedi Knights is being decimated by a seemingly indestructible new enemy, the enormous and powerful General Grievous. As the Clone Wars rage on, Separatist leader Darth Sidious plots an attack on the important planet of Coruscant. When Anakin and Obi-Wan are dispatched to the far-off planet of Koobi to investigate a reported Separatist grouping, Mace Windu and Yoda are left to lead the Republic's defense of Coruscant and keep Chancellor Palpatine safe from General Grievous and his forces.
This story arc serves as the lead-in to Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, coming to theatres on May 19. Produced and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack), the entire Star Wars: Clone Wars series is an exciting and enlightening component of the Star Wars Saga acting as a bridge between the three Star Wars films as it explores the Clone Wars, an element which until the 2004 release of the first 20 chapters, has been a mystery to Star Wars fans.
A Special Presentation of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume I
TELETOON also gives viewers a chance to re-visit the first 20 chapters of the 2004 Emmy winning Star Wars: Clone Wars on the weekends of April 23 and 24, April 30 and May 1, and May 7 and 8. Catch episodes 1 through 10 on Saturdays and episodes 11 through 20 on Sundays at 4pm. The first 20 chapters are comprised of three-minute shorts that pick up where Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones leaves off.
