Have Droids, Will Travel

Posted By Dustin on March 3, 2007

In the Star Wars Universe, droids are necessary for survival, and in many cases, a better life. Luke's neck was saved because of R2-D2's tireless efforts, and you can get five times the droid action in your life with the Exclusive Star Wars Astromech Droids Set #2!

Every droid has a story and special function, and many of these droids belonged to famous pilots. Ric Olie of Naboo owns R2-A6, nearly forgotten Rebel hero Theron Nett has R2-X2 as his co-pilot, and the red cone-headed R4-E1 belonged to spacer and Cantina patron BoShek!

Other droids were there as history was being made, like R3-Y2. Scooting around the Rebel Base on Hoth, he provided assistance to the forces of Princess Leia and General Rieekan as the Rebels evacuated the snowy world. During the Naboo conflict, R2-M5 provided services to the royal house as well as its starfighter pilots, pushing back the Neimoidian invasion and preserving their way of life. (Until the Empire, anyway.)

So why add these little guys to your toy box? Not only will they make your other action figures happy, and your vehicles running properly, but they're loaded with tiny features to make them fun. Turn R2-M5's dome, and his leg will automatically retract or extend! The same feature can be found on R2-X2 and R2-A6. Meanwhile, R3-Y2 has an awesome clear dome, and you can see his wiry "brain" inside! Finally, R4-E1 has a pointy head. And anyone can tell you that's just awesome.
