INFORMATION:
The art for the Half Sheet is again painted by Tom Jung, the same as his other Style "A". However, the artwork is slightly diferent. This poster is the only one to feature the medal award ceremony from the end of the film. It also depicts the actual destruction of the Death Star. Zooming behind Princess Leia's leg are 3 unidentifiable starships. The artwork also features one of the best renditions of Alec Guinness.
The droids were added to both Jung's style A one-sheet art and his
half-sheet art at the insistance of Lucas. This fact is confirmed in
Cinefantastique.
This poster is extremely difficult to find. I've only seen a couple over years of collecting. They are printed on the heavier stock paper and are all rolled as far as I know. Bootlegs aren't reported on this poster though there are numerous reprints of it which are a larger size.
The 24 Sheet version of this poster has an odd Star Wars logo in it.
