CVI: Matt Busch's Dark Empire Poster Giveaway

See below for news on a Matt Busch giveaway that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the comic that found Luke treading a little too close to the Dark Side...

MATT BUSCH'S DARK EMPIRE POSTER GIVEAWAY AT CVI!
Star Wars Artist Matt Busch has produced a limited edition poster that will be given away for FREE, exclusively at the Star Wars Celebration VI show in Orlando, Florida this weekend. Authorized by Lucasfilm, the poster commemorates the 20th anniversary of Dark Horse's comic book / graphic novel series, Dark Empire.

"My favorite storyline in the Star Wars saga, expanded universe or otherwise, is Dark Empire." Busch elaborates, "I love the idea that Luke is tormented with needing to know why his father turned to the Dark Side. In fact, my all-time favorite piece of Star Wars art is the cover to issue 2, illustrated by Dave Dorman. That series really inspired me as a young adult and lit the fire under my bum to really go after my dreams. So this poster is really a tribute, both as a fan and a professional."

Copies of the poster will be given away free each day, Thursday through Sunday, to the first 50 attendees who stop by Busch's exhibitor booth #220. (Note that Busch is set up with exhibitors on the main floor, not in the Art Show.) Only one poster will be granted per attendee, while supplies last.

Busch has chosen not to reveal the art until the show. "I don't want to spoil the excitement. I think it's the greatest Star Wars piece I've ever done. It's a fan-boy fantasy, an epic montage movie poster through my eyes as if Dark Empire was produced as a film. If you want to see it, you have to come to the booth. And if you want a copy, you need to hit my booth ASAP."

The poster measures 24" x 36" (movie poster size) and is printed courtesy of Busch. "This is really my way of saying thank you to all the fans and friends who have been supportive of my career." Only 200 of the posters will be given away in total and this is the only way you can get your hands on one. The Star Wars Celebration CVI show runs August 23rd through the 26th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
