Positive Update On Jake Lloyd

This week, Lisa Lloyd, mother of The Phantom Menace's Jake Lloyd, did an interview with Scripps News and revealed the current state of her son and sets the record straight on what actually happened over the last 25 years since the film was released.

Back in 2015, there were reports of his arrest and incarceration. Then, in 2016, there were reports of him being hospitalized at a psychiatric facility.

In March of 2023, he had another issue which caused him to be admitted to a mental health rehabilitation facility where he remains to this day as he's ten months into an eighteen month stay. His mother says "He’s doing much better than I expected," & "He is relating to people better and becoming a little bit more social, which is really nice. It's kind of like having more of the old Jake back, because he has always been incredibly social until he became schizophrenic."

She confirms that "He loves all the new Star Wars stuff," and says "People think Jake hates Star Wars. He loves it."

When asked if she ever saw her son being involved in another Star Wars project, she had this to say: "Jake loved filming Star Wars. He had so much fun." & "I would love for him to get well enough to be able to do a little bit of something, and I’m sure he would maybe like to do that. He couldn't at this point, but you never know how much he's going to improve. So we'll see."
