Gimer
this plant, native to the planet Dagobah, had a bark which provided succulent juice when chewed. The bark contained certain chemicals that had anesthetic properties. Gimer sticks were favored by Yoda, who believed the plant's juice aided in meditation. In reality, they probably relieved some of the pain of aging, allowing the Jedi Master to concentrate. Note that the Star Wars Customizable Card Game: Dagobah indicates that the gimer stick was a symbol of a Jedi Master's ancient wisdom.
