Gavin, Bowman
this New Republic Colonel held the title and position of director of flight personnel for the Fifth Battle Group. This meant that he held a great deal of influence in the recognition and promotion of the pilots in the Fifth, and had the ability to hand-pick pilots for certain assignments. As a pilot himself for the Alliance, Gavin had earned the new sun insignia of the B-Wing pilots during the Battle of Endor. He earned many more service decorations before be promoted to the director's position.
