this species of fish was harvested for its tasty flesh. Smugglers preferred to take cargoes of frella fish during their runs, as the small often overpower Customs agents. This meant that the Customs agents would only investigate the initial few crates in a smuggler's hold, leaving the deep - and more illegal - cargo crates alone.
