Fluidics
this was a form of starship technology that was considered outdated by the time of the New Order. Fluidics involved the use of pressurized liquids to deliver the driving force needed to manipulate the steering vanes and other mechanical systems of a starship. The technology still existed on some backwater worlds, and various developing species were only just perfecting it in their societies.
