this was another name for a beautiful gizzard stone recovered from the last chamber of a krayt dragon. The ancient Jedi Knights believed that a dragon pearl could be used as a crystal in the construction of a lightsaber, and that it imparted the wielder with a greater ability to fight back against an opponent.
