this planet was the site of an Imperial ambush of an Alliance supply convoy, just prior to the Battle of Hoth. Although Darth Vader's forces annihilated the Alliance convoy, it was learned later that the ambush had been devised by Admiral Thrawn, in one of his first campaigns as an Imperial officer.
