Drearian Defense Conglomerate's sporting blaster. Princess Leia Organa used one during her career as Alderaan's Senator, prior to her capture aboard the Tantive IV. It was considered the prototypical sporting blaster, and was rugged enough to be passed on through several generations. For easier storage, the Defender could be broken down into three pieces, but only after a special code was entered into the weapon's keypad.
