Crystal Barnacle
these parasites were similar to the oceanic namesakes, but were a crystalline lifeform which could survive in the vacuum of space. Using small claws, crystal barnacles attached themselves to the hulls of starships in drydock, and used a mildly acidic secretion to eat away at the metallic hull.
