Corellian Sanctuary
established on Coruscant, this small, domed building was designed to honor those Corellians who died off-world. Because the Diktat of Corellia would not allow members of the New Republic to land on the planet, natives who died while away from Corellia could not be repatriated. So, exiled Corellians built the Sanctuary. Corellians ritually cremate their dead, then use industrial-grade compressors to compact the ashes into a synthetic diamond. The diamonds provide immortality to the dead, and are placed in the black walls of the Sanctuary to represent the stars in Corellia's sky.
