the Core Systems are those star systems located near the physical center of the known galaxy. Planets such as Coruscant make up this center of the galaxy, as defined by both the Republic and the Empire and the region which surrounded the Deep Core. Many historians and xenoarchaeologists believe that all human life in the galaxy evolved from a homeworld somewhere in the Core Systems - also known as the Core Worlds - although the exact location has never been found.
