this aging man was once a soldier, until he left the life of a military man and settled on Molavar with his wife, Ensa, several years before the Battle of Naboo. Byrom had fought in more than his fair share of battles, and the cybernetic prosthesis that replaced his left leg served as a constant reminder of his service. He had fought both alongside and against the Jedi, but knew enough about them to count them among the few beings he trusted in the galaxy. Upon retiring, Byrom and Ensa both wanted to live a simpler life, and moisture farming on Molavar provided them with a chance to escape from the chaos of military life. They lived happily for a while, until Sleeth started demanding protection money from the neigboring moistures farms. Byrom had all he could do to provide for himself and Ensa, without having to worry about Sleeth's predations. Shortly after the Battle of Naboo, Byrom was surprised to find Darca Nyl on his land. The former soldier had stepped on one of the landmines protecting Byrom's land, and Byrom decided that Darca was not going to cause him any trouble. He welcomed Nyl into his home, only to have the Jedi interfere in his dealings with Sleeth. Although he vowed to defend his homestead, Byrom feared that he would be no match for Sleeth's small army. He was therefore surprised when Nyl arranged for Tooth and his band of nomads to appear on Byrom's farm, shortly after Sleeth and Magon arrived to demand the deed to the farm. Tooth's nomads far outnumbered Magon's forces, and the crimelord was forced to retreat back to Malcraan. Byrom was happy to have Tooth's help and support, and gladly allowed Tooth's nomads to make their home on his lands.
