this Imperial Commander succeeded Moff Giedt as governor of Tiss'sharl, during the months following the Battle of Yavin. He was later assigned to command Darth Vader's flagship Imperial-class Star Destroyer on a mission to recover Luke Skywalker on Jabiim. Although Skywalker and the rebels managed to escape, Demmings survived to continue his command. A second error, the destruction of a rebel blockade runner that might have provided more clues as to the fleet movements of the Alliance, nearly cost Demmings his life. It was alter revealed that the "mistakes" that were occurring on Demmings' watch were the result of Garil Dox, who had been trying to exact a measure of revenge against the Empire for the destruction of Alderaan. The destruction of the outpost on Ejolus led to Dox's capture, and Demmings was allowed to command the Reprisal a little longer.
