Midwife Droid
this was the name given to a series of droids that were developed to assist gynecologists of various species in delivering infants. Midwife droids were usually created in the image of a female of the species, with a calming personality and soothing vocabulator voice. The limbs of a midwife droid were sometimes equipped with cradling paddles or other devices that helped to ease the mother's pain and provide gentle support to the newborn. The main body of the midwife droid was covered with specialized materials that were soft yet durable, and could be gently heated to comfort a newborn baby.
