this was an ancient form of blaster that was produced during the era of the Great Sith War. It used short, controlled bursts of coherent energy, rather than a full-power blast, to produce its discharges. Most of these weapons were machined from thoranium, which allowed them to produce more powerful blasts than other blaster weapons.
