this chemical was used to maintain the temperature of buildings which were constructed in desert environments. Coolth was pumped throughout the building's walls in a huge grid of thin pipes. As the cold coolth passed through the grid, it kept the interior walls of the building cool, while blocking the exterior heat from entering.
