Republic Ministry of Internal Security
this branch of the Old Republic was established by Supreme Chanceller Palpatine during the height of the Clone Wars. Ostensibly created to protect the lives of Senators and other governmental officials, the MIS converted several Republic Holding Facilities into safehouses. Despite evidence to the contrary, the MIS refused to acknowledge that the destruction of the facility in which Senator Lavira Wren was being held was the result of foul play, causing many observers to question the true nature of the MIS's activities.
