this was the name used by Luke Skywalker to describe the eleven- to thirteen-year-old trainees at the Jedi academy on Ossus, during the years following the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy. The Banthas were the final named group of students on Ossus, since all trainees were allowed to build their lightsabers at the age of fourteen, at which point they became apprentices.
