this unusual aftereffect of the use of the Darkstaff was reported by a small number of beings who were native to the planet Cularin, during the final years of the Old Republic. Because the Darkstaff made the entire Cularin System jump some ten years forward in time, strange things began to happen in the system. Certain individuals experienced the timeshadow, in which a "copy" of themselves was created in an alternate timeline. This "copy" was an exact duplicate of the original being, and existed simulateously with the original. However, when the original individual died, they were suddenly "replaced" with their timeshadow copy. The event was disconcerting to the individual, since they believed themselves dead. Those beings who experienced this effect reported no hamrful side effects from the replacement. The timeshadow copy lived the rest of its life and died in what appeared to be normal fashion, although the effect only occurred once, since the timeshadow's energy was spent in bringing the original back to life.
