this was a muscle-powered form of transportation used on many backwater planets of the galaxy. Balloon-bikes were essentially pedal-powered vehicles that were held aloft by gas-filled balloons. Usually built for one or two beings, these vehicles were propelled by the turning of a blade that was connected to the pedals. Steering was accomplished by a primitive set of handlebars that were connected to vanes.
