this BD-series droid was owned by Han Solo and his wife, Leia Organa Solo, during the years following the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy. Affectionately known as Beady, this droid was programmed to vigorously maintain the safety and security of the Solos and their companions. This often led to trouble, as Beady sometimes misinterpreted the actions of others as hostile. When the Solos arrived at Yoggoy in search of their children, some five years after the Yuuzhan Vong were defeated, BD-8 was unable to quell its programming when a group of Yoggoy workers tried to offload supplies from the Millennium Falcon without asking permission. UnuThul took offense to the actions of the Solos and their companions, especially after a Yoggoy was injured by Tarfang. UnuThul set out to destroy the weaponry of the Millennium Falcon to prevent further attacks, and BD-8's combat programming kicked in. It marched down the boarding ramp and prepared to defend the ship. UnuThul, however, was too strong with the Force to be denied, and simply used the Force to destroy BD-8 where it stood.
