Galactic Alliance Senate
this was the name of the senatorial body that was formed in the wake of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy, more than thirty years after the Battle of Endor. Modeled after the former Galactic Senate, the Galactic Alliance Senate was designed to allow member systems an equal vote in matters of galactic importance. It quickly became apparent that the new Senate continued the traditions of greed and selfishness that destroyed the Old Republic, especially when entire systems were faced with massive rebuilding efforts due to the destruction of the war against the Yuuzhan Vong.
