Bellassa
this planet was believed to have been one of the first worlds to experience the true nature of the Empire, during the early months of the New Order. Prior to the Clone Wars, Bellassa produced a portion of the galaxy's mutonium, before its mines ran dry. During the Clone Wars, Bellassa had sent its own army to augment the Grand Army of the Republic, but it chose to remain an unarmed world that lobbied for peace at every turn. Many believed that this was why it was targetted by the Empire. The elected government was removed and replaced with Imperial supporters, journalists were eliminated, and any citizens who rebelled were jailed without a trial. About a year after the Clone Wars, the Imperial forces on Bellassa discovered that many of the demonstrations were being staged at the urging of Ferus Olin, who had gone into hiding in the mountains. In order to put a stop to the riots, Imperial Inquisitor Malorum ordered that hundreds of citizens in the city of Ussa be arrested. Under the so-called Order 37, the citizens would be executed if Ferus didn't turn himself in. Ferus, aided by former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, was able to free the prisoners and escape before the Empire could do any more harm.
