this group of smaller strike forces was hastily assembled by the Old Republic during the height of the Clone Wars, in order to protect the planet Coruscant from possible attacks by the Separatists. The Home Defense forces were put to the test some thirty-six months after the Battle of Geonosis, when General Grievous launched an attack on Coruscant to cover his capture of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.
