this treatise was written by the pre-Republic philosopher Plaristes during the decades leading up to the formation of the Old Republic. In the treatise, Plaristes argued convincingly that automatons would never achieve true sentience, despite the regular and impressive technological advances in artificial intelligence. However, over the ensuing millennia, many of his postulations were proven wrong.
