this philosopher wrote a wealth of treatises on sentience and intelligence during the decades prior to the formation of the Old Republic, more than 25,000 years before the Galactic Civil War. Among his most enduring treatises was Of Minds, Men, and Machines, in which he argued convincingly that automatons would never achieve true sentience, despite the regular and impressive technological advances in artificial intelligence. However, over the ensuing millennia, many of his postulations were proven wrong.
