this was the medical term used to describe the insanity that was often experienced by users of cybernetic implants or borg constructs. Essentially, the direct connection from the living brain to a computer system drove the cyborg insane over time, causing the being to lose control of the cybernetic implant as well as their own mental facilities. The onset of cybernetic psychosis was accelerated by prolonged connections to a computer system. Thus, the manufacturers of such devices recommend limited connection times.
