this was the Yuuzhan Vong version of a plasma cannon. Like other Yuuzhan Vong technology, the yaret-kor was a living weapon, grown to serve a single purpose: to expel blasts of molten material and energy at a target. Because the yaret-kor was a living weapon, it healed naturally over time, thereby requiring less maintenance than standard weaponry.
