Lanvarok
this ancient polearm was essentially a long-handled axe. However, hidden inside the head of the axe was a spring-loaded disk launcher that could fire thin, metal disks. Because the range of these disks was limited, the lanvarok was still considered a melee weapon; many weapons experts have also called it a "ranged polearm." The fact that it could expel razor-sharp disks made it a very formidable melee weapon. A disk was released whenever the wielder swung the lanvarok forward and snapped it back. Multiple disks could be released with a longer swing. The lanvarok became the inspiration for the Sith lanvarok.
